Thanks for providing the clean list, and the smoothie recipe. Half the battle of eating right is knowing what and how to prepare it to taste good.

It really is. I highly recommend the Detoxinista. She has tasty, healthy, and simple recipes that are primarily plant based. I really love her recipes because they're good and don't require a lot of time and ingredients. Her website is fantastic, but I also own all of her cookbooks. She's definitely my go to for cooking. https://detoxinista.com/

So helpful, Daria. I buy organic as much as possible, or buy from local farmers, but I have often wondered when buying conventional if it would be better not to eat the produce at all. Thanks for confirming my gut instinct!

When I was reading up on this, I learned that a lot of people who can't afford to buy organic, choose not to eat fruits and vegetables at all because of the pesticides. While organic and locally grown produce are the best choices, eating conventionally grown produce is preferable to not eating produce at all. A friend also told me that soaking in water with baking soda removes a lot of pesticides. I investigated it further, and according to what I read, it's quite effective. My friend told me that it doesn't affect the taste. I may do a note on this, since it seems like a good tip.
